Personal Information: 

I find meeting new people fascinating.  I have a persevering spirit that has allowed me to handle classes, family, and employment.  It is an honor for me to be able to share my strength with others who are in need of it.  I returned to college in the fall of 2006 and can honestly say it has been the best decision I have made in many years.  I have enjoyed taking classes so much that do not want to stop!

Why did you want to be a part of the Student Senate?  What goals would you like to achieve in Student Senate this year?

I want to bring about positive changes in our schools while being a positive role model for students of all ages. I am very excited about working on our HUGS Initiative for the 2011-12 school year.  I will be joining the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee for the 2011-12 school year as well.

My life is dedicated to family, education, work and community.  I am a non-traditional student studying exercise science.  I find enjoyment in using my talents, skills, and capabilities for the improvements of others.

Why did you want to be a part of the Student Senate?  What goals would you like to achieve in Student Senate this year?

I chose to become a part of Student Senate to become more involved in the growth of LCCC.  It has helped turn many lives around.  I love its family like atmosphere.  My main goal for the 2010-2011 school year is to help with the continued growth of LCCC and the many people that come in contact with our campus.

I strive and thrive daily to do my very best.  In a word, I'm very ambitious.  The Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program has transformed me into a detail and goal oriented person with excellent organizational skills.  It is through the 4-H Club that I have learned the importance of team work and responsibility.

I am pleased to be in existence!  “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but rather learning how to dance in the rain.”  We ALL have a story to tell and I choose to tell mine with a smile!  I am grateful for everyone, every experience and every opportunity I am blessed with.

To assist with the enhancement of knowledge, professionalism, customer/community service and positivity in the WONDERFUL diverse community of LCCC!

Major:  Physical Therapist Assistant

Personal Information:

I am an optimistic and highly motivated student who loves the city college experience.  I have been attending Lorain County Community College (LCCC) since fall of 2007.  I will be graduating with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant, also an Associate Degree in Sports and Fitness Management, and Associate in Arts and Science.  I have grown from my previous experience as Event Coordinator.  It has improved my leadership skills.  Although I'm a leader, I understand that it takes team work to get things accomplished.

Why did you want to be a part of the Student Senate?  What goals would you like to achieve in Student Senate this year?

I am involved with different types of people and have heard different opinions about the events on campus.  I know that I can make a difference and enhance the student body’s experience at LCCC.  Some of my goals are to have students from all walks of life involved in the planning process of our events, projects, and community activities.  By working together, it builds stronger relationships and a stronger campus community.

I enjoy living life in the most positive way possible.  The position of University Partnership Representative matches with my personality perfectly.  I don't mind speaking up, especially for a good cause and my position is one that allows me to be a voice for others.

I have often heard partnership students say that they feel as though their concerns go unnoticed.  I joined Student Senate, so that I could be their voice, to facilitate communication between partnership  students and the Lorain County Community College administration, and advocate for their benefit whenever possible.

I recognized the need to strengthen my academic abilities, so I began attending Lorain County Community College in 2007.   I am the mother of two wonderful children. I feel fortunate to be expanding my educational experience, which enhances my family and community connection.

Why did you want to be a part of the Student Senate?  What goals would you like to achieve in Student Senate this year?

As a Student Senator, I am able to pursue my passion of motivating students to achieve academic excellence.  My goals are to be an example of perseverance and how it enables students to overcome the challenges they may face on their road to success.  By being the Outreach Representative, it allows me to be an ear to hear and a voice to speak for the student body, faculty, staff, and outreach campuses.  I know that I can make a difference.
