Business Management

  • Description: The Business Management program is designed to prepare students for transfer or employment in a variety of management/administrative positions. The focus of the program is skill building in the areas of communication, decision-making, planning, organizing, evaluating and entrepreneurship.

 1. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the domestic and international business field, with an awareness of global trends and how they affect management and business administration in general.

-- Collective Assessments such as exams, reports and presentations per core courses within the program.

-- Course Assessment (CAR) Analysis yearly.

-- Office of Institutional Effectiveness Planning data gathering.

-- Current Student Surveys conducted by faculty teaching BADM courses.

-- Graduate Surveys conducted by Joint Center for Policy Research Public Services Institute.

 
 
 
 

-- The majority of the students met course outcomes identified in Course Assessment Records (CAR).

-- 70% of the students that completed the course received grade of C or better in the core business administration courses over a five year period.

-- Student feedback was positive.

-- General feedback from program graduates about quality of program and it meeting their goals. was positive by the majority of the students that responded to the survey over a nine year period

 2. Explain the concepts of decision-making, planning, organizing, and evaluating.

*3. Explain the principles of Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources Management, and Marketing Supply Chain Management through planning and control.

4. Demonstrate professional oral and written communication skill.
 5. Develop the ability to produce plans for various segments of business.
 6. Develop sensitivity to ethics in management and business administration.
 7. Acquire an appreciation for the value of teamwork.  -- Team projects, case studies and exercises illustrating value of teamwork
