A manufacturers survey was mailed to welding professionals. They were asked some general questions about the prevalence of welders, welding technicians, and welding engineers in industry today. They were also asked about the skills that were lacking in the various individuals in order to get information on where industry needs assistance in strengthening their welding professionals.

The results of the survey are listed below along with a copy of the original survey instrument.
