Lorain County Community College Foundation

  • Economic development
  • Educational opportunity
  • Cultural diversity
  • Community growth

These four cornerstones represent the foundation for Lorain County's advancement.  Lorain County Community College is committed to serving as a bridge to transport the county into an exciting new phase of substantial growth.  As we work towards enhancing our community's economic competitiveness, your support of our Annual Fund lays the groundwork.

The LCCC Foundation enhances our community's quality of life by investing in key Lorain County Community College priorities that present the greatest impact and growth opportunities for the people of our community.

Q. What is the LCCC Foundation?
A. The LCCC Foundation was created in 1973 as the direct support organization for Lorain County Community College. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors representing fifty leaders whose primary goal is to serve the greater community. They are able to accomplish this goal by working with the LCCC Foundation and providing guidance for the financial support so needed by the college. As the college reaches out to the community by offering enhanced programs, the financial needs continue to grow. By supporting the Foundation, you can help the college meet the growing needs of Lorain County.

Q. How does the LCCC Foundation provide support to the college?
A. 90% of the financial support the Foundation provides to the college is in the form of student scholarships. This meets a vital need of our student body, and creates educational access to those who most need it. The Foundation also funds faculty incentives, business and economic development initiatives, cultural programming and community outreach efforts. In short, the Foundation provides the margin of excellence for Lorain County Community College.

Q. Why does a public college need private support?
A. LCCC has been rated as Ohio's top community college. This rating is a tribute to our unmatched programs and high level of education. By offering unique paths to advancement such as the University Partnership, local residents can pursue the education they need on their terms. Unfortunately, the costs of operating a community college are barely covered by tuition, local, and state support. Your dollars are needed to continue these exceptional programs and to help the college respond to the community's ever-changing needs.
