General Education Development (GED) Testing
If you do not have a high school diploma, getting your GED is the first step in your college career.
Free GED Preparation and English as a Second Language (ESOL) Classes
If you would like help preparing for the GED test, you can take GED classes for free. The Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) Consortium offers classes to adults free of charge, and are available in both day and evening sessions.
GED instruction is offered throughout Lorain County and has 22 classes for student placement. Every effort will be made to place a student in a class convenient to their location/needs.
In addition, English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes are available to adults free of charge during the day.

GED Testing Services
If you are ready to take the GED Examination, you need to do the following:
**Coming in 2014! The current 2002 series is scheduled to end on Dec. 31, 2013. If you have not passed one or more parts of the 2002 series, you have until Dec. 31, 2013, to pass. You may only take the test up to three times during a calendar year. Beginning Jan. 1, 2014, you will need to take the entire test to receive your GED. Prior scores will not be counted. The cost of the 2014 series will increase and that cost has not yet been determined.
