11th Annual Golden 30 Awards

11th Annual Golden 30 Awards

The Spitzer Conference Center on the campus of Lorain County Community College hosted the 11th Annual Golden 30 Awards on November 18th.

The Golden 30 Awards recognize innovation and entrepreneurism in our community’s fastest growing and established companies. Over 300 people attended the dinner.

The Lorain Morning Journal and LCCC sponsor the event. Co-sponsors are Lorain National Bank, Barnes Wendling, Team Lorain County and Lorain County Growth Partnership.

The overall winner in the Emerging Company category was Military Products Group Incorporated from North Ridgeville. The overall winner in the Established Company category was South Shore Marine Service located in Huron.

Dr. Church honored all of the winners by saying: "We hear daily of staple American companies facing bankruptcy, dedicated workers losing jobs and home foreclosures reaching record levels. These challenges can be overwhelming. Yet, this room is filled with more than 300 entrepreneurs and their committed teams who wake up every day determined to innovate, build a business, provide jobs and create a new competitive economy. For this, I say thank you! I want you to know that you are supported by a community and a college that values entrepreneurship and is here to help you succeed."

The Richard A. Desich Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Robert M. Campana. Mr. Campana is both a business entrepreneur and a community entrepreneur. He is the former President of P.C. Campana Inc. and is the owner of Campana Development. Past winners of the Desich Award include Billy Rowland, J.B. Richey and Mike Bass.
