Parade of Scholars

Founded in 1973, The LCCC Foundation is the direct support organization for Lorain County Community College and is among the 15 largest community college foundations in the nation. Its mission is: "Lorain County Community College Foundation, a nonprofit organization, assembles and utilizes resources in innovative ways to accelerate the mission and vision of Lorain County Community College."

The LCCC Foundation is governed by a 52-member board of directors who represent the top leadership in Lorain County and the region. Through the success of its major gift campaigns and annual/alumni fund raising, the LCCC Foundation has assembled a resource base of approximately $18 million that provides over $600,000 in scholarships each year as well as program support for the Stocker Arts Center, Faculty Excellence and others. The LCCC Foundation Scholarship Program has nearly 130 named scholarship funds, resulting in 350 annual awards. These scholarships often serve as last dollar awards; providing that last bit of financial assistance that enables our students to pursue a higher education degree. The LCCC Foundation Scholarship Program matches needs and resources to create opportunities—truly providing that margin of excellence.
