The Producers at Stocker

"The Producers" at Stocker

Coming soon to the Stocker Main Stage is “THE PRODUCERS” by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan.

Mel Brooks musical “THE PRODUCERS” is the story of a down-on-his-luck theatrical producer and a mousy accountant.  Together, they hatch the ultimate scam: raise more money than needed for a sure-fire Broadway flop and pocket the difference.  One problem, their show turns out to be a hit.  The original Broadway production ran for six years and closed after 2,502 performances.  In “THE PRODUCERS,” Mel Brooks has put comedy back into musical comedy.

USA Today writes “THE PRODUCERS” is the funniest, most fearlessly irreverent thing ever seen on stage.  Now, you can experience the biggest Tony Award-Winner in Broadway history when it comes to Stocker Arts Center.  “THE PRODUCERS” won 12 Tonys breaking the record of 10 held by “Hello Dolly” for 37 years.

“THE PRODUCERS” plays Stocker on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 7:00 pm.
