LCCC athletic teams offer students a diverse recreational and competitive sports opportunity. Teams for LCCC men include soccer, baseball, basketball and golf. Women can compete on the LCCC volleyball, soccer, basketball and fast pitch softball teams.
LCCC student-athletes know how it feels to win! Eric Polansky, member of last year’s men’s golf team, advanced all the way to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III National Golf Championship in June. He placed eighth in the nation.
LCCC also boasts a winning coaching staff. Veteran coaches will be joined this year by newcomers coaching Women’s Volleyball, basketball, soccer, and men’s soccer. Among the new coaches are a former State volleyball All-star and a former NBA All-Star.

- Recreational facilities are also undergoing tremendous improvements. In December 2008, LCCC will open its new 13,000-square-foot fitness facility that will include a new fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment, a climbing wall, a new welcome desk, locker rooms, hallway spaces, and a running/warm-up area. The current facilities will also be improved to accommodate the needs of the sports academic programs, sports teams and student athletes.
LCCC offers a two-year associate’s degree program in sports and fitness management, and certificate programs for personal trainers and group exercise instructors. LCCC’s great academic programs give student athletes a chance to take classes that transfer to a four-year university, along with their experience as a college athlete.
