Master of Business Administration (PMBA)
Master of Business Administration (PMBA)
The mission of the Kent State MBA program is to prepare students for management and staff positions in regional, national and international organizations through an emphasis on ethical leadership, teamwork, creative problem solving, global perspectives and skilled applications of information technology. This mission is achieved through offering a variety of coursework covering all the disciplines of business and by utilizing teaching techniques that help the student to develop and refine skills in these areas.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the MBA program requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.75, plus a better than average score on the general aptitude test known as the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Additional materials that are required for admission include: Graduate School of Management application and the non-refundable application fee of $30 (checks payable to KSU); official copies of all academic transcripts; Ethnic Data Form, two letters of recommendation; current resume; and an essay detailing the student’s goals and objectives.
The application form can be found online at http://business.kent.edu/grad; scroll to “Apply Online” and follow the appropriate links. Additional questions should be directed to Louise Ditchey, at 330-672-2282 or lditchey@kent.edu
Format of the PMBA Program
MBA courses will be available each semester, with up to four courses to choose from. Each course meets one night per week. Classes will be offered evenings, Monday through Thursday. PMBA students usually take one or two courses each semester. Typical length of the program is three to fours years based on the student’s undergraduate degree and number of courses taken each year.
Courses will be taught simultaneously at the Kent State University campus. Students will be taught in real time and have interaction with the faculty and other students in the class using technology at both campuses. This is an opportunity for students who seek an AACSB-accredited MBA program, but who are unable to come to Kent due to geographic or time constraints.
Registration and Scheduling Information
Once admitted, students will receive a program sheet detailing the coursework required for the MBA degree. For information about the schedule of MBA courses at LCCC or to learn more about the process of registration, contact Louise Ditchey, at 330-672-2282 or lditchey@kent.edu.
