Surgical Technology Program Director
Allied Health and Nursing, Health Physical Education and Recreation

Reporting to the Dean of Allied Health and Nursing, Health, Physical Education and Recreation, the program director is responsible for: reviewing program and clinical needs for the program; academic advising, orientation of full-time, adjunct, lab faculty and students; organizing and facilitating adjunct faculty orientation for specific surgical technology courses; actively participating in recruitment programs; collaborating with marketing and promoting program visibility in surrounding communities; scheduling individual courses, lab time, and clinicals; evaluating faculty; gathering data and submitting reports to the dean, college and accrediting body; reviewing budgetary needs of the program; holding faculty meetings for full-time and adjunct faculty; and other duties as directed by the division dean.
The faculty member will also: teach courses across the surgical technology program including lecture, clinical and laboratory components; participate in surgical technology curriculum development and assessment including program review; advise students and assess student achievement; participate in college governance; engage in scholarship and professional growth; and support the LCCC mission, vision and values. The incumbent must be willing to work some evenings and travel to outreach programs.

Required Qualifications: Certification as a surgical technologist (CST); and Bachelor’s degree with two years of current full-time clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree with teaching and distance learning experience.

Physical Therapist Assistant Faculty/Coordinator Clinical Education

Lorain County community College (LCCC) is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position within the Allied Health and Nursing, Health, Physical Education and Recreation division. LCCC is looking for innovative student-centered instructors whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to: demonstrating contemporary expertise in assigned areas; providing effectiveness in teaching lecture, lab, and student evaluation while demonstrating proficient computer and multimedia technology skills; developing course, clinical and teaching materials; assisting with curricular and program development; and maintaining records for program accreditation.

Incumbent must also have: strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills; the ability to work independently as well as work closely with peers, students and community; the ability to travel; and serve as a liaison between the physical therapy program and the clinical education site including communication with sites, planning education placements at sites, site visits, assessing site effectiveness, clinical site/instructor development and clinical site/instructor education.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, an active license as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant in the state of Ohio (or eligible) with at least three years of clinical experience, with three years of clinical or academic teaching experience as a CI/CCCE or three years experience teaching or clinical coordination in a PT/PTA program.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher, academic teaching experience (as a college lecturer, instructor, ACCE, or program director in a PT/PTA program), extensive experience providing clinical or continuing education would also be considered. Strong ties with the physical therapy community and the ability to develop and maintain strong community networks are all preferred.

Starting salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
