Lorain County Community College is offering a variety of class pairings for specific groups of students. Students will take classes together to create a community of learning to push each other to succeed.

Communities Include:

Athletic and Academic Success

Student athletes at LCCC are met with unique challenges and opportunities. These students must maintain full-time status and a minimum grade point average in order to stay eligible in their particular sport. These students athletes also must face the same financial concerns as all other students at LCCC with the added barrier of time constraints placed on them as they commit to representing the college in athletics. LCCC is a Division III institution, which means we can offer no scholarships for athletics. A learning community of athletes provides assistance in a number of areas including stress management, time management, relaxation techniques, understanding the mind/body relationship, and more. Sections of both SDEV 101 and Psychology 151 can be taken concurrently and are taught by faculty who are also athletic coaches and those in the athletic field. The first year learning community will enable our student athletes a chance to listen to speakers and explore topics the find relevant in both College 101 and Introduction to Psychology courses.
