1.  Complete the Application Process

Complete the LCCC Application if you have never applied or have never completed an LCCC credit course.

Apply to LCCC

Have an official copy of your high school or GED transcript sent to the LCCC records office. Request your GED transcripts.  If you previously attended any other college or university, transcripts must be requested from each institution.

The placement assessment will help your advisor place you in classes that are appropriate for you.

2.  Complete the New Student Orientation

The new student orientation gives you all of the information you need to get started at LCCC. It is recommended that all new students take the orientation on-campus with a trained instructor.

Students are required to complete our Welcome Survey as part of the new student process. The Welcome Survey helps LCCC to identify resources, services and opportunities that align with your goals. The survey can be accessed through your MyCampus account.

3.  Apply for financial aid

We strongly encourage ALL students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), even if you don’t think that you will be eligible. Many non-federal awards require the FAFSA.

4.  Schedule classes with an advisor

All new students must meet with an advisor or counselor to schedule the first semester’s classes.

5.  Get credit for work or life experience

A Prior Learning Assessment will help you determine whether your work or life experience qualifies you for college credit. This is especially valuable for those who have worked in technical fields or who have served in the military.

6.  Set up Accounts and Prepare for Classes

Activate your LCCC email account

All official LCCC communications will be sent to you using your LCCC student email account. As part of your MyCampus setup process, you will be asked to activate your LCCC email account.

Take a campus tour

A campus tour will help you become familiar with LCCC’s campus. This is also a great opportunity to locate all of your classes before the first day of school.

Get a Student ID (Library)

You will need a Student ID for many campus activities. Take a copy of your class schedule to the Circulation Desk on the second floor of the Bass Library. Your first Student ID is free.
