Your Route to Academic Success
Save money by starting at LCCC and transferring to an Ohio four-year college, including many options in LCCC's University Partnership. With Ohio Transfer 36, your general education classes are guaranteed to transfer.
Transferring to another college or university is a complex process that can be challenging for new students, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Our academic advisors and University Partnership transfer coordinator are here to make sure you have the right plan to meet your transfer goals. We look forward to helping you on this journey and want to make a smooth transition from LCCC (or whichever institution you began with) to a four-year university.

Transfer to most four-year institutions requires students to be transfer-ready before applying for admission. Our transfer team can help you establish transfer goals and navigate transfer timelines so when it’s time to apply and transfer, you’ll be ready. We will also help you connect with instructors who can help you with future academics, internships and career goals.

If you plan to transfer from LCCC or another college to another four-year university or college, follow these steps:
- Meet with your academic advisor
- Complete either the transfer worksheet or the UP transfer worksheet
- Make sure all bills and fines are paid and there is no hold on your account
- Complete a petition to graduate with your associate degree from LCCC.
- Complete an application to your chosen college or university. See the list of LCCC partner universities
- Send transcripts to your chosen college or university from any and all universities and colleges that you have attended.
- Confirm with admissions if a high school transcript is also needed.
- Complete the FASFA. You may list up to 10 institutions
- Complete additional paperwork such as an Ad Hoc Consortium agreement .
- If applicable, submit IEP information with the transfer partner institution at least 2 months before you start.
- Confirm with admissions if any additional paperwork is required, for example, a FERPA release.

Lorain County Community College and the University Partnership offer bachelors and master’s degrees on LCCC’s campus to help you save money and complete your degree close to home.

Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways
Ohio has established statewide guaranteed transfer pathways based upon two-year to four-year degree programs. With these new pathways, students can complete the first two years at LCCC and transfer to a public university to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Will Your Course(s) Transfer?
Transferology is a web-based program that allows you to keep track of and check on how your LCCC courses will transfer to other Ohio colleges and universities.
Transfer Scholarships
As a transfer or University Partnership student at LCCC, you may qualify for university scholarships when you transfer by applying for our UP and transfer scholarships opportunities. As an LCCC student preparing to transfer, you also have access to dozens of scholarship opportunities.
Transfer Fee Waiver
The NACAC Application Fee Waiver may cover your university application fee if you are Pell-eligible or meet financial criteria. If you are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant you may use the NACAC Request for Transfer Admission Application Fee Waiver Form when applying to colleges.
If you are not eligible for a Pell Grant, but your annual family income falls within the the form’s alternate income eligibility guidelines, you may self-certify your eligibility.

As a college student, you face challenges outside of the classroom, and these challenges can sometimes make academic success difficult. We offer many support services to help you deal with important issues and to provide greater opportunity for your academic success.
