About the Health Simulation Center

The Lorain County Community College Health Simulation Center located at the University Partnership Ridge Campus site is a center for creative learning. Through the use of technology and the application of innovative teaching techniques, it is truly a center where the art and science of healthcare education meet. The Health Simulation Center offers programming for numerous health care disciplines to promote the delivery of safe patient care. The center coordinators believe that every patient deserves quality care and work to achieve this one student at a time.

The Health Simulation Center aligns its mission with that of Lorain County Community College and works to be an innovative leader in healthcare education and promote economic, community, and cultural development. The center serves as a regional catalyst for change in a global environment through accessible academic and career –oriented education, lifelong learning, and community partnerships.

The Health Simulation Center opened in the spring of 2013 and has served over 1100 students from a variety of disciplines and education levels including college-level nursing, emergency medicine, occupational therapy, and medicine and numerous high school and middle school groups from surrounding communities. The center serves to promote education to the students of Lorain County Community College, but is also open to serve the healthcare population at large.

The Health Simulation Center and the services of its staff are also available to any group that is interested in promoting education with the use of:

  • Human Patient Simulator Scenarios that can be developed to meet the specific needs of your organization.
  • Task trainers for skill development.
  • Standardized patients.
  • Computerized simulation case studies.
