2021-22 NJCAA All-Academic Teams Announced

July 21, 2022 – – 14 student athletes at Lorain County Community College made NJCAA All-Academic Teams this month for their efforts in the classroom during the 2021-22 school year. To qualify, students must earn a 3.6 GPA or better throughout the entire 2021-22 school year.
NJCAA All-Academic First Team – 4.0 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Second Team – 3.80-3.99 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Third Team – 3.60-3.79 GPA

As for cumulative team GPA, the cross country program at LCCC delivered two top-10 finishes in the classroom after a successful running season that featured the men’s squad winning the NJCAA Region XII DIII Championship and the women finishing second (Owens Community College). Nationally, the men’s team finished 12th amongst NJCAA DIII schools at the NJCAA National Championships last fall in Milledgeville, Ga.
Academically, the women’s cross country team finished with the second-best grade point average in the country with a cumulative 3.75 GPA (Mineral Area College – 3.78). The men’s cross country team finished with the ninth highest with 3.34 (Monroe College – 3.63).
Also earning a spot on the NJCAA All-Academic team cumulative GPA list was the Commodore softball team with a 3.24 GPA.
