Billings Sets a Season Marker for Women’s Basketball
February 5, 2020 – -Despite Vanecia Billings’s setting a new season rebound record, it was a tough defeat for the Lorain County Community College Women’s Basketball team as they had a 71-44 loss to Owens Community College. This brings Lorain County Community College to 6-16 overall and a 2-5 in the OCCAC.
Billings (Lorain/Clearview) broke LCCC’s single-season rebound record of 265 set by Brandy Holowecky in the 2015-2016 season with an outstanding 269 rebounds with four games remaining in the regular season. This moves her into 9th for the career marker. For the night, Billings pulled in five rebounds, had 13 points, and blocked three shots.
Haley Sprouse (LaGrange/Keystone) had a team-high 17 points and three steals, while Bri Gallagher (Medina/Cloverleaf) had four assists. Kelsey Gannon (Avon) also contributed three steals along with three assists for the Commodores.
