Commodore Baseball Drops Season-Opener at Oberlin
March 11, 2019 – – Sophomore Short-Stop Jesse Barrios (Wooster/Home School) went 3 for 4 at the plate and scored a run for the Lorain County Community College Men’s Baseball team, but it wasn’t enough for the Commodores as they lost their season-opener 10-1 to Oberlin College JV.
Barrios’ run came in the top of the 4th and gave the Commodores a 1-0 lead which the Yeomen answered in the bottom of the 4th with 3 of their own, taking a 3-1 lead going into the 5th. Oberlin added to their lead in the next two innings off 5 LCCC errors, which accounted for 7 of their 10 runs.
“It was our first time playing outside this season and we just made too many errors to overcome,” stated LCCC Head Coach Bill Frawley.
The Commodores will take on CCAC South in a double-header at noon, Sunday, March 17, 2019, in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
