Commodores Lose Heart-breaker to Tri-C in Men’s Basketball
February 12, 2020 – – The Lorain County Community College Men’s Basketball team battled to the end against Division II Cuyahoga Community College pulling to within one bucket of the Triceratops but could not connect on their final plays of the game en route to a 70-66 loss to their local rival.
Alex Wyatt (Brunswick) led the way for LCCC with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots. Derek Yahnke (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) had a team-high 16 points, pulled in six caroms, and blocked three shots. Jacob Marsh (Elyria) added thirteen points and three steals, while Jaylen Jenkins (Willoughby/ Willoughby South) had 10 points, three assists, and three steals.
With the win, Tri-C improves to 16-8 overall and 5-3 in conference and LCCC drops to 3-21 on the season and 0-9 in conference play.
The Commodores host their final game this Saturday, February 15, 2020, against OCCAC foe, Hocking College. Game-time is 3:00 pm in the Ewing Activity Center.
