DII Sinclair CC Hands Volleyball OCCAC Loss
September 27, 2019 – – In a match that featured multiple lead changes, the Lorain County Community College volleyball team put up a good fight against Division II Sinclair Community College in an OCCAC matchup before losing 25-27, 21-25, and 23-25. The loss drops LCCC to 3-4 in the conference and 11-7 overall.
The Tartan Pride jumped out to an early lead in set one before LCCC ran off six consecutive points to go up 25-24 when Sinclair knotted it at 25 on their way to a 27-25 win. Sinclair grabbed another lead in the second set and Lorain again chipped away to get within two before losing 25-21.
It was all the Commodores early on in set three as they found a way to contain three-time OCCAC Player of the Week, Elizabeth Sicking (Hamilton/Fairfield). LCCC had a 19-14 lead before some unforced errors allowed Sinclair to come back for an eventual 25-23 win.
LCCC Head Coach, Ted Whitsel, had few words after the loss just saying, “We can play better.”
Kara Sullinger (North Ridgeville) led the team with 12 kills and 14 assists. Brooklyn Hudson (New London) had 12 digs, while teammate Myah McDonald (Avon) added 11.
LCCC will host Division II Tri-C for an OCCAC match at 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
