Gannon First as Women’s XC Wins Bruce Bridgeman Invite

September 11, 2019 – – The Lorain County Community College Women’s Cross Country team had an outstanding weekend, as they won the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday, September 7, 2019. LCCC’s Kelsey Gannon (Avon) was crowned the individual champion, covering the 3.1 race in 23:09.

Teams represented included LCCC, Finger Lakes, Broome, Herkimer, Mohawk Valley, SUNY Cortland, Onondaga, Cayuga and Erie Community College. LCCC (22 points) and SUNY Cortland (33 points) fielded full teams. There were 18 total finishers in the women’s race.

Erin Konrad                 11th place        30:10    

 

The LCCC men finished 5th out of 5 full teams, scoring 104 points. Finger Lakes Community College was the team champion with 55 points. There were 50 runners in the men’s 8K race. Leading the way for LCCC was Henry Haas (Wellington) who finished 6th overall with a time of 30:25 on a very hilly course.

LCCC’s Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams are back in action Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Penn State Behrend Invitational in Erie, PA. Race time is 5:00pm.
