Gannon Leads the Way as Cross-Country 2019 Campaign Underway

August 30, 2019 — The Lorain County Community College Commodores kicked off the 2019 collegiate cross-country season at the College of Wooster Invitational on Friday, August 30. LCCC competed against Oberlin, Wooster, Baldwin Wallace, Bryant & Stratton, and Otterbein.

The women ran a shortened 4K race, while the men ran a shortened 4-mile distance. Both races were non-team scoring races.

Kelsey Gannon (Avon) led the way for the Commodore women, finishing 41st out of 85 runners with a time of 17:04. Also running for LCCC were Samantha Glass (Brookside) 74th place, 19:08; Alexis Cozart (Elyria) 83rd place, 22:19 and Mackenzie Glass (Brookside) 84th place, 23:14

Henry Haas (Wellington) paced the men with a time of 25:16, good for 50th place out of 66 runners on the men’s side. Ian Hamilton (Elyria) finished 59th with a time of 27:16, while Justin Below (Brookside) finished 66th with a time of 30:57

The Commodores will be in action next Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College.
