JIMMY JOHN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK For April 15-21, 2019
JARED NAIDA (6’0” Freshman from Cleveland (Lakewood HS))
Against Penn State New Kensington, Jared pitched a complete game (4th of the season) in game 1 for a 12-4 win. Jared went into the game with a 0.75 ERA and improved to 0.58. He gave up 0 earned runs, walked 1, and had 4 strikeouts. At the plate in game 1, Jared had 3 at bats, walked twice and scored a run. In game 2 of the double header, Jared played first base and went 4 of 4 at the plate, with 3 doubles, 3 RBI’s, and 4 runs scored in a 13-2 win. Jared played baseball and football at Lakewood High School. In baseball, he was a two-time All Southwestern Conference (SWC) selection, a Greater Cleveland All-Star, was team captain, and won 3 letters. In football, Jared played fullback and defensive tackle, where he won 2 letters. Jared plans to pursue a 4-year degree and continue playing baseball. When he is not playing baseball, his other interests include music, video games, and watching his favorite athlete, Jose Ramirez. Way to go Jared!
