LCCC Cross Country Needs Runners For 2022 Fall Season
July 21, 2022 – – The Lorain County Community College Cross Country team is looking for new runners for the 2022 fall season.
Cross Country is one of eight varsity sports at LCCC. To participate, you must:
- have received a high school diploma or GED.
- during the first term, be enrolled and maintain 12 credit hours.
- during the second term, be enrolled and have passed 12 credit hours with a minimum 1.75 GPA or better.
- during the second season of participation, have successfully completed and passed 24 credit hours with a 2.0 GPA or better.
The Commodores are coached by Jim Powers, who returns for his 15th season at the helm of the LCCC Cross Country team.
Powers has guided the men’s and women’s cross country teams at LCCC to 11 NJCAA Region XII DIII Championships, seven top-10 finishes at the NJCAA DIII National Championships, and has coached eight NJCAA DIII All-American runners.
The men’s cross country team is looking to win its fourth NJCAA DIII Regional Championship in a row this fall.
LCCC’s first cross country competition will be held at Wooster College at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 at the Wooster CC Invitational.
