Men’s Basketball Drops Final Home Contest to Hocking
February 15, 2020 – – LCCC closed out its home schedule with a tough 98-86 loss to Hocking College in OCCAC men’s basketball. With one final conference game to go, the Commodores sit at 3-22 on the season and 0-10 in the OCCAC. Hocking improves to 18-12 overall and 2-8 in the conference.
Jaylen Jenkins (Willoughby/ Willoughby South) spurred the LCCC offense with 21 points, including a perfect five for five at the free-throw line. He dished out six assists, grabbed three steals, and blocked a shot.
In his final home game, sophomore, Derek Yahnke (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) led all scorers with 25 points, going 10-16 from the field. He also had seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Fellow sophomore, Alex Wyatt (Brunswick) dropped in 18 points, grabbed seven boards, had four assists, and swatted two shots.
The Commodores head to Owens Community College this Wednesday, February 19, 2020, for their final regular-season game before the Region XII Championships. Game time is 7:30 pm.
