NJCAA Division III National Poll and Leaderboard
September 5, 2019 – – After receiving votes in the first NJCAA National Poll of the season, the Lorain County Community College Volleyball Team moved into seventh place in the rankings after a competitive weekend of play. LCCC played tough against perennial national powerhouse, Owens Community College and had another great performance against undefeated Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Three of the top ten Division III teams ranked in the poll, come from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC). Owens is the top-ranked team and Columbus State Community College is third.
As of August 31st, the Commodores ranked in the top ten in several statistical categories as a team. They were 5th in assists with 263 and 6th in kills with 278. Their 475 team digs ranked them 6th and they were 8th for team service aces with 58 in the young season.
Individually, 2018 NJCAA HM All-American Setter, Kara Sullinger (N. Ridgeville) ranked 2nd in service aces with 25. She was also 6th in total assists with 209 and 11th in digs with 102 on the year. Freshman Defensive Specialist, Brooklyn Hudson (New London/Fitchville) ranked 13th with 99 digs, while Freshman Middle Hitter, Lydia Solak (LaGrange/Community Christian School) is 8th in total blocks with 22 through seven matches.
