Parma, OH – With less than 24 hours in between the double headers, Lorain CCC softball hit the road to take on Cuyahoga CC Friday. In game 1 the Lady Commodores fell 12-0 then loss game 2 by a final score of 20-0.
Game 1: Tri-C 12, LCCC 0
Twenty four hours ago LCCC would drop their double header by similar scores and would once again find cold bats to be an issue. With 5 team hits in game 1, the Lady Commodores saw production from Emily Weyer, Leigha Donaghue, Emily Hastings and Alex Willis.
The team would put some pressure on the Tri-C defense in the 4th and 5th innings, putting runners in scoring position but the team would be unable to drive in runs to cut the lead.
On the mound in game 1 was the team’s ace, Amanda Barley who would go 4 innings, 11 hits, 12 runs and striking out 1. Much like the first game yesterday, Barley would keep things close as Tri-C held just a 5 run lead until the 3rd inning where LC would give up 7 runs.
Game 2: Tri-C 20, LCCC 0
In game 2, LCCC would fall 20-0 but they would get some good production from Morgan Nisenboum who would go 2 for 2 for her team. Along with Nisenboum, Emily Weyer continued to hit, going 1 for 2.
On the mound for this game were Emily Hastings and Morgan Nisenboum combining for 4 innings, 14 hits, and 20 runs.
The Commodores will face Notre Dame JV on Thursday at home. First pitch will be at 4pm.
