Softball inks OF/P Kyla Bryant from Cloverleaf HS

Kyla Bryant

May 26, 2022 – – The Lorain County Community College softball team added a pitcher and outfielder this week in Cloverleaf High School’s Kyla Bryant.

Bryant’s experience playing softball spans almost ten years.  She played varsity all throughout her high school career with Cloverleaf and started in 33 out of a possible 58 games.  She batted .158 with an on-base percentage of .323 and pitched a total of 18 innings in her career with the Colts.

Bryant describes herself as a situational player at the plate and a defensive specialist in the field.  She prides herself on being able to get bunts down to move runners over or reading and reacting on defense to limit the opponent’s offense.

Her time as a pitcher will come in handy for the Commodores next season.  Depth at pitching was a weakness that LCCC hopes to fix next season to help current pitchers Payton Regal and Faith Hamilton.

An active student at Cloverleaf, Bryant was part of the DARE mentoring program and intends to study nursing in the LPN program at LCCC.
