Terra State Hands Women’s Basketball Tough Loss
December 14, 2019 – – Division III Lorain County Community College squared off today against Division II Terra State Community College in women’s basketball. Although in their inaugural season, the Titans have the ability at the DII level to offer athletic scholarships and it showed as they handed LCCC a 99-44 loss.
LCCC played a competitive first quarter and trailed just 17-14 going into the second when the Titans went on a 22-11 run. The Titans build on their lead, as the Commodores struggled to connect, shooting just 24.5% from the field for the game compared to 48.1% for Terra State.
A bright spot for the Commodores was Vanecia Billings (Lorain/Clearview) who turned in her sixth double-double this season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brandyce Smith (Lorain/Clearview) was the only other LCCC player with double-digits, adding 12 points in the loss.
Lorain drops to 2-8 on the season and will host Jamestown CC at 5 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
