Women’s Basketball Faces Tall Task in Loss to Titans
November 11, 2019 – – The Lorain County Community College Women’s Basketball Team faced a tall task yesterday matching up against 6’3” Center Island Bradley and the Community College of Beaver County. Unfortunately, LCCC was unable to overcome a career high 33 points by Bradley and a poor shooting night…hitting just 28.7% from the field in their 84-61 loss to the Titans.
LCCC Heac Coach, Vince Granito, said, “We tried multiple defenses and different players guarding her, but her size was just too much in the paint and we were outrebounded 53-35.”
Brandyce Smith (Lorain/Clearview) came off the bench to lead LCCC with 18 points. Haley Sprouse (LaGrange/Keystone) was the only other Commodore in double-digits with 11. Vanecia Billings (Lorain/Clearview) had eight points and led the team with seven rebounds, while Kelsey Simmerly (Avon Lake) added eight points along with six rebounds.
The Commodores are back at home on Thursday, November 14, 2019, for a 5 pm game against Pitt-Titusville.
