Wysocky, Coleman, and Harssema Sweep Opponents; Esports Improves to 13-3

October 13, 2021 – – Lorain County Community College Esports put together another solid evening with victories in three of four matchups to improve their overall season record to 13-3. 

Randy Wysocky, Matthew Coleman and Avery Harssema each defeated their opponents in 3-0 sweeps to remain undefeated on the season.  Gavin Lincicome nearly came away with his second win in row but fell in five rounds to his opponent from Three Rivers College.

“We’ve started to hit a nice little stride,” said Director of Esports and Head Coach. “Our guys are eager to keep that momentum going. Now that we’re about halfway done, it’s more important now more than ever to stay laser focused which I know we’ll do week in and week out.”

LCCC Esports is in its inaugural season as a varsity sport as a member of the NJCAAE which has over 85 schools participating in Esports. The Commodores play Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo Switch. Super Smash Bros. is a competitive fighting game that features characters from the Nintendo gaming universe. All competitions are streamed live on Twitch under the account CommodoreEsports.

Esports will be back competing next week with opponents from Bryant & Stratton College, Grays Harbor, Iowa Central, Arizona Western.  Match begins at 6 p.m.
