Mackenzie participated in cross country, track, and marching band for 4 years during his high school career, earning 4 letters.  He helped Bay to second place in the State HS Championships (DII) and earned Great Lakes Conference Honorable Mention and Lorain Morning Journal All Star for his performances in cross country.
