Samantha earned eight varsity letters in cross country and track at Brookside High School and served as team captain for the cross country squad. She was selected as Most Valuable Runner her freshman season and was honored with the Coach’s Award. Sam ran both the 1600m and 3200m for the track team. Her favorite sports memories are having fun and running with her sister. In addition to athletics, Sam was a member of Family Career Community Leaders of America and worked with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America. Samantha helped the Lady Commodores to a 9th place team finish as the 2nd runner on the LCCC Cross Country Team at the 2019 NJCAA DIII National Championship meet with a 21st place finish and a season best time of 21:38 over the 5K course. Samantha was also the 2nd runner for the Commodores in the 2019 NJCAA DIII Region XII Championship, earning All-Region honors with her third place finish and a time of 21:39. An outstanding student, Sam graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She continues her academic excellence at LCCC, earning High Honor Roll and NJCAA Academic Awards. Samantha earned Scholar All-American nod this Fall with a 4.0 GPA and was named to the OCCAC All-Conference Academic Team in 2018 and 2019. She plans to attend a four-year university to continue her degree in Early Childhood Education and become a third or fourth grade teacher.
