Evan Walker is the director and head coach of the new LCCC esports program. Evan, who lives in Lakewood, OH, graduated from Buckeye High School (Medina, OH) where he participated in football basketball, and golf, as well as being an all-conference pitcher in baseball. Evan went on to earn his BA in Sports Management (’20) at Baldwin Wallace University where he played baseball for the Yellow Jackets for one season. Evan is currently working towards his Master of Education in Sport Management from Cleveland State University (anticipated December ’21).

Evan has gamed since 2003 and brings his experience in Super Smash Bros (the initial game that LCCC will participate in), having owned multiple consoles included Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance.

Evan’s favorite all-time game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3. He is ranked in the top 15% of online head-to-head Madden 21 players. Evan has held membership in SLIM, D2AA, Lazer, NikeShot, and VCG Clans across multiple games and years. His favorite games include Madden, NBA 2K, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Fortnite and his favorite console is PlayStation 5. Evan’s favorite gamer is Ninja and his favorite celebrity gamers include Jarvis Landry and Post Malone.

Evan’s experience outside of gaming includes working as a graduate assistant in Cleveland State Athletic Department; assistant baseball coach at Buckeye High School; baseball instructor at Pinnacle Sports; internships, volunteer, and part-time experience with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, and Cleveland Fusion.

Evan’s hobbies include playing in Lorain County Hot Stove Men’s Wood Bat Baseball League, spending time with his senior dog Wesley, and watching Cleveland sporting events. He grew up in Valley City, OH with his parents, two older sisters and a younger brother.
