Coach Ryan Minney

Ryan Minney begins his first year as Head Softball Coach at LCCC in 2017.

Coach Minney joins LCCC after a 13 year coaching career at various levels in youth sports, including the last three seasons as the head varsity softball coach at Elyria Catholic High School.  He brings with him his vast coaching experience, with the ability to teach softball skills in a variety of methods to best develop the player.  He has a history of coaching successful softball programs both at the school and travel softball level.  He was the head coach of Ohio Intensity (North Canton) in 2010 and assistant coach for Ohio Ice (Akron) in 2008-09.  In 2009, he coached Keystone Middle School 8th grade team to 20-3 season record.  In 2015, his Elyria Catholic Team was the D3 District Champions and D3 Regional Runner-ups, while he was named the D3 Conference Coach of the Year.

From 2004-2008, Minney coached the teams of his son, Zach, and daughter, Caitlyn, in youth baseball, softball and other sports.  In 2006, his Little League team placed 3rd in the A.S.A National Tournament in Moline, IL. Coach Minney has been a private hitting and pitching instructor since 2009.

Since 1998, Minney has been a Project Supervisor at Ray Esser & Sons in Elyria.  He has been married to wife, Rachel, for 22 years.  His daughter, Caitlyn, is in her final year at Youngstown State, where she has been a pitcher for their DI softball team for the past four seasons.  Son, Zach, played baseball at LCCC his freshman year and is now in his sophomore year at Youngstown State where he is on their baseball team.
