Interested in combating viruses? Join us for a conversation with Dr. Harry Kestler, professor of Microbiology at Lorain County Community College. Prior to teaching at LCCC, Dr. Kestler taught at the Lerner Medical College of the Cleveland Clinic and held a faculty position in the department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Harvard Medical School. For the past three decades, Dr. Kestler has studied infectious diseases. He is a worldwide leader on HIV-AIDS is credited with discovering the first live attenuated vaccine for the AIDS virus. In his spare time, he also hosts an informative video series to update our community on the coronavirus and answers many questions people have about the pandemic.

While there he served as Commander then transitioned to assistant professor and Criminal Justice coordinator here at LCCC. He has also served as a Police Chief for the city of Geneva and the Village of Kipton.

We discuss the characteristics of police work and what it takes to succeed in the profession.
