How to Meet with an Employer

  1. Search employer profiles.

Review employer profiles including their documents and videos to determine the employers you are interested in meeting/interviewing with.

  1. Share your résumé and/or portfolio with employers.

Starting on the first day of the event, you can submit your résumé and/or portfolio to the employers or to specific jobs you are interested in anytime during the event.

  1. Employers will review your documents.

Employers will review the résumé and/or portfolio you’ve shared. If an employer selects you to meet/interview, you will be notified via email to schedule the meeting date/time. You will also see an Alert! on your Dashboard. Use [Check Interview Status] in the Navigator to [Schedule] a date and time to meet with the employer. You may also select [Contact] to reach out to the employer via email to schedule a mutually convenient time outside of the event. Schedule your meeting date as soon as you are notified because the employer’s availability may fill up!

  1. Prepare for the meeting/interview with the employer.

Practice your elevator speech and brainstorm questions you would like to ask the employer about their workplace and/or the opportunity. It is also a good idea to practice responses to common interview questions so you will be prepared for the meeting.  Support is available from Career Services throughout the event via our Zoom lobby.

  1. Join the meeting.

On the scheduled date/time, use [Check Interview Status] to [Join Meeting] and be connected with the employer via video conference using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or GoToMeeting.
