Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education
When you graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, you have the opportunity to have a major impact on the youngest students. Early childhood education is no longer viewed as glorified babysitting. Instead, as an early childhood teacher, you’ll teach early literacy, shape behaviors and cognitive development, and model the social skills students need to successfully participate in their communities.
The curriculum builds on the short-term certificate coursework in the Early Childhood Education program and ensures that you learn all of the skills necessary to have a positive, life-long impact on your students. You can expect to work in a pre-Kindergarten program, Head Start, parent cooperative, public or private nursery school, exceptional child program, or service agency/referral program. You may be a nanny, a child care aid, a teacher, or an administrator.
