Webex allows students, faculty and staff to easily schedule and hold virtual video meetings through Canvas.
Cisco Webex Student Information
Step 1. After logging into your Canvas Course select the Cisco Webex link listed in the course navigation.
Step 2. Select the Virtual Meeting tab located at the top middle area of your Cisco Webex instance.
Step 3. Once you select the Virtual Meeting tab, you are then able to click on the Join feature to participate in the meeting.
Step 4. The first time you access Cisco Webex you will be prompted to install the Webex meeting app. You also have the option to join from your browser.
Step 5. After installing Cisco Webex you will click on the Join Meeting button. You may be prompted to wait until the instructor (host) admits you to the WebEx session.
Addition Information: Please note that some instructors may have the Webex function set to click on in your course calendar on their desired time and date. Some instructors may also send you an email containing a URL to the Webex session.
Step 1. After logging into your Canvas Course select the Calendar icon listed in the course navigation.
Step 2. Once you are able to view your Course Calendar Select the Join Meeting tab located in the middle area of your Cisco Webex meeting instance.
One feature your instructor may use is the Office Hours Feature.
Step 1. After logging into your Canvas Course select the Cisco Webex button listed in the course navigation.
Step 2. Select the Office Hours tab to see what times are available for you to meet with your instructor, if a meeting time hasn’t already been assigned.
Step 3. After Selecting the Office Hours tab you are then able to select an office hour time with your instructor.
