Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology – Industrial Electrical Technician
As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial electrician, you may perform a variety of functions related to electrical controls, equipment, and wiring in an industrial plant or worksite. Your work may involve testing, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of the electrical components. In addition, you may read and interpret blueprints and specifications, as well as remain current on electrical code specifications for the area.
Building on the Industrial Electrical Technician One-Year Certificate program, this coursework will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical systems, making you job-ready for an entry level position as an electrical maintenance technician.
