As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial mechanic, you may install, test, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as conveying systems, production machinery, and packaging equipment. Your job will be to keep the manufacturing equipment running smoothly in order to ensure continuous operations.

The Industrial Mechanical Technician One-Year Certificate program builds on the related short-term certificate program and will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial electrical components, welding technologies, and other mechanical systems. You may work as an entry-level mechanical maintenance technician or choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology – Industrial Mechanical Technician.
