Relay for Life

Relay for Life

Lorain County Community College is assembling a team to participate in the 2011 Relay for Life of Elyria held at Elyria Catholic High School.  LCCC will have a tent at this event and we need a variety of “jobs” filled for it to be a success.  We would love to have 100% participation from our LCCC family.

There are many ways in which you can do your part and we are asking you to choose the “job” that best suits you.

-join the LCCC team as a walker and raise money
-donate raffle items
-donate items to sell.  Examples: case of water, watermelons, etc.
-donate money
-purchase a luminary in honor of a loved one
-volunteer to work at the LCCC tent

What is Relay for Life?  The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.

At Relay for Life, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground.  Many of them take turns walking or running around a track or path.  Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.

Because cancer never sleeps, Relay for Life is an overnight event up to 24 hours in length.
