In lieu of a traditional Mid-Year Convocation, this year we will build up to the start of the spring semester with an LCCC’s Got Talent Showcase on January 15, 2020. Why? Well…a couple of reasons….
- This fall, Student Life hosted “Your Vote Rocks,” a battle of the bands for LCCC students that highlighted the importance of civic engagement and the importance of voting. At that time, a number of LCCC employees indicated interested in participating and showcasing their own talents. We know our faculty and staff have plenty of talent. So, this January, it’s finally your turn!
- This is a great way to reinforce the importance of showing up and locking in your vote. Because if you don’t engage, if you don’t do your part to vote for your favorite act, well your vote can’t be counted.
- Most importantly, we know 2020 will be an important year to LCCC when it comes to locking in votes. LCCC’s Got Talent will include a series of special pop-in sessions to educate and engage our campus community in preparation for this milestone year.
In order for us to have a great show, we need you in the live audience. It’s time to take action.
Reserve Your Seat in the Live Audience
Support your colleagues by being in the live audience at LCCC’s Got Talent. The event kicks off with breakfast in the Spitzer Conference Center’s Reaser Grand Room at 8 a.m., Wednesday January 15. The Talent Show will take place starting at 9 a.m. in Stocker Arts Center Hoke Theatre.
Winners of the talent show will be chosen by live, popular votes of your LCCC colleagues. The winning act will receive the coveted Spotlight 2020 championship trophy.
There’s even an opportunity for the audience to join in on the action as this will be an event that encourages full participation. Attendees are encouraged to come sporting their best LCCC Proud swag…the more flair the better. Our audience will decide who wins the prize for “best dressed.”
