Josh is a graduate of the University of Akron through the University Partnership Program here at Lorain County Community College with a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.E.) in Exercise Science – Management. He is CrossFit Level 2 certificate holder/trainer, and is also CPR and AED certified through the American Heart Association.

In February of 2010 Josh was 295 lbs., out of shape and doing even the simplest task was a struggle for him. He decided to make a change and start exercising and learning more about how to live a healthy life and lost over 65 lbs. in the first year. He decided he wanted to help people like himself who wanted to make a change in their lives but didn’t know where to begin or were too afraid to take that first step. He started school in the fall of 2011 and graduated in May of 2013 with his associates degree and in May of 2017 with his bachelor’s degree with a wealth of information on the right and wrong ways to exercise. “I always look for ways to challenge my clients to help them reach their goals and accomplish things they never thought possible.”

Andrew Dito

Andy is a graduate of The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management. He is nationally certified as a Personal Trainer and as a Sports Nutrition Specialist through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. He is currently part of our HPER staff here at LCCC as a fitness center instructor and is CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association.

Andy has been involved with youth and high school athletics as a baseball pitching coach and football coach. However, he has extensive experience implementing training programs for all age groups ranging from 10 to 75 years.  He says, “I’ve realized that personal training is so much more than just teaching people how to exercise.  I have been able to fine-tune interpersonal skills and give clients a more holistic approach to getting fit and leading a healthier lifestyle. My motto is that you have to E.a.R.N your health…Exercise and Rest & Nutrition…The BIG 3… without ALL of them, your health suffers!”  He makes each client and their individual health and fitness goals his utmost priority.

Andy is a graduate of The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He received two Associates degrees from Lorain County Community College: Associate of Arts and Associate of Applied Science in Sports and Fitness Management. In addition, he has a Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Training. He is a certified personal trainer as well as a Sports Nutrition Specialist with the National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF-CPT).  Andy is also AED certified and CPR certified through the American Heart Association. He is also First Aid & Safety certified through American Red Cross.  Andy currently works for LCCC as a Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Adjunct Faculty. He has taught credit courses like Strength and Resistance Training, Personal Conditioning, Resistance Training for Women and Intro to Meditation. He is prepared to develop an individualized exercise program for you based on your personal goals and needs.

Paul O’Donoghue

Paul is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sport Medicine, a Certified Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise and a Functional Aging Specialist through the Functional Aging Institute.  Paul holds special certificates in Corrective Exercise, Youth Exercise, Women’s Fitness, and Senior Fitness from NASM. 

Paul graduated from Ohio University and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University.  He spent thirty years coaching and training youth through elite level athletes.   He has coached locally at Midview, Bay and St Edward high schools and is currently on the staff of USA Wrestling Ohio where he prepares Ohio’s top high school wrestlers for national competition.

Paul’s current focus is training multiple age groups and helping them to achieve their health and fitness goals.  His special interest areas include flexibility and balance training, weight management, corrective exercise and functional fitness training.

Kathleen M. Resar

Kathleen is a graduate of Kent State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, with a Fitness Specialist Concentration. Along with her American Council on Exercise (ACE) certification as a Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor, Kathleen is also certified through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Exercise Physiologist. She has worked as a Fitness Instructor at the LCCC Fitness Center since January 1989, and has taught several Physical Education classes as an Adjunct Faculty member since the Fall of 1989.
