LCCC Ranks Second in Ohio, Top 50 in U.S. for Highest-Paid Grads

Nurse StudentLorain County Community College recently ranked second among Ohio community colleges and 41st nationally for highest paid graduates in the 2016-2017 College Salary Report by Payscale Human Capital.

Payscale, a salary, benefits and compensation information-company, compiles data on lifetime earnings for hundreds of degree and major combinations to show the earning potential for an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree in its annual College Salary Report. The data is collected through PayScale’s ongoing, online compensation survey. Users provide data about their jobs, compensation, employer and educational background.

LCCC graduates are earning $36,500 early in their careers and $61,500 by the time they reach mid-career, according to the report. Central Ohio Technical College ranked first in Ohio with early career pay at $33,800 and mid-career pay at $63,900 for its graduates.

“This report is a great indication that our graduates are securing well-paying jobs,” said LCCC President Marcia J. Ballinger, Ph.D. “An LCCC associate degree can lead to one of many high-paying careers.”

When this information is combined with the fact that LCCC ranked 30th nationally for its affordability in the U.S. Department of Education’s Lowest Net Prices report issued by the College Affordability and Transparency Center earlier this year, it makes LCCC one of the best values in higher education.

“Affordability is key to keeping LCCC accessible to our community’s residents so they can achieve a degree that gives them an opportunity for a high-paying career,” Ballinger said.
