ABLE Program Specialist (Part-time)
Reporting to the Manager of ABLE, the ABLE Program Specialist provides instruction to adults enrolled in Adult Basic Literacy Education who are pursuing their High School credential or increasing their basic academic skills. The ABLE Program Specialist works to ensure that learning activities and delivery systems are varied, engaging, responsive, and purposeful for students and their learning styles. Typical activities include the preparation of weekly lesson plans and the delivery of classroom instruction at various locations throughout Lorain County. The ABLE Program Specialist will: provide instruction using established curriculum, tailored to the specific student needs at all academic levels; administer skill level assessments as a part of participant enrollment and/or progress testing; participate in professional development activities as required; and ensure timely and accurate data reporting occurs. Current opportunities include teaching within a correctional facility, as well as at community sites within Lorain County.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching certification; experience in Adult Education experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; and familiarity with instructional technology.
Minimum Hourly Rate: $27.82

Reporting to the Dean of Engineering, Business and Information Technologies and the Director of Workforce and Business Solutions; the Project Manager and Technical Training Specialist will: manage the day-to-day activities of the TAACCCT base grant to accomplish and report on required deliverables by deadlines. The Project Manager and Technical Training Specialist will: analyze needs, organize, and manage technical training credit and non-credit programs. These traning programs are to be based on high demand, and will include apprenticeship programs. The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating and communicating with Ohio TechNet schools; internal and external partners. This position is responsible to positively impact sales of customized services and training solutions for business and industry.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing project management such as general manager or front-line supervisor; experience in sales, and with engaging employers and outreach to agencies; experience in grant management and/or compliance; knowledge of Ohio’s manufacturing skills gap issues; experience in technical training and design,experience with budget development/program cost; familiarity with data collection and analysis; and understanding of adult learning. Candidate should be a highly organized, self-motivated problem solver with excellent interpersonal, communication and team building skills.
The starting salary range is $54,080 – $60,840 and is supported by a comprehensive fringe benefits package.
