Enrollment, Financial & Career Services

Full-time Staff Assistant

Reporting to the Associate Provost for Enrollment Management and Student Success, the staff assistant will be responsible for but not limited to: knowing detailed information about Enrollment Services as a whole, especially in the areas of registration, transcript processing, graduation requests, application processing, Accuplacer Assessment, advising and counseling, Veteran’s Administration Benefits, Allied Health and Nursing Admission processes and other functions for which students may seek assistance; knowing key information about the areas of the College, including academic divisions, in order to make appropriate referrals; be the primary person responsible for the special admit program, requiring excellent excel and database management skills; work regularly with students; and provide service in an appropriate manner in a fast paced environment with a positive attitude and high level of customer service.

Qualifications:  High school graduate or equivalent learning; ability to effectively work in a team-based environment; strong communication skills; excellent computer and technical skills (proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Internet Explorer); experience with PeopleSoft; demonstrated ability to learn quickly and embracing of change; evidence of superior service attitude and human relation skills; demonstrated ability to treat others with respect, dignity and tact.

Preferred Qualifications:  Associate’s degree; experience with a student information system.

Minimum Hourly Rate:  $30,110

Wellington Center

Part-time Staff Assistant

(Afternoon & Evening hours)

Reporting to the Wellington Center Coordinator, the Staff Assistant will provide direct support for outreach and enrollment services related activities, i.e. administering Accuplacer test, building applications, registering students, sharing general college information, assisting faculty and serving as a liaison with community users of the Center and with faculty and staff of Lorain County Community College.  The incumbent must be well organized and able to deal effectively with individuals from all levels across campus. Produce correspondence, schedules and marketing materials; communicate effectively and professionally by phone, in person, and electronically; assist in planning, organizing and implementing meetings, events and workshops, direct-mail correspondence, and supporting interactive video distance learning course instruction.  Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; work cooperatively with other staff, faculty and student employees.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent with 2-3 years’ experience in an office environment; stellar customer service skills, technical know-how, excellent office equipment and computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office® software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).  Associates degree, experience and knowledge of LCCC campus preferred.  This position is a 20 hours/week position normally scheduled 4 evenings from 4 PM –

9 PM Monday through Thursday with occasional flexibility required for morning, evening or weekend hours.

Minimum Hourly Rate:  $12.24

Campus Security

Campus Security Officer
Part-time

Reporting to the Manager of Campus Security, the Officer will be available as needed on an on-call basis for weekend and some weekday shifts. Officers provide: security service for college students, faculty and staff as well as facilities, equipment and grounds; a 24-hour security presence on campus by patrolling buildings, parking lots, and roadways; and other functions as necessary. Campus Security is a non-commissioned position. Officers work eight hour shifts (6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.).

Required Qualifications: High school graduate with a least one-year prior experience in law enforcement (military, police, fire, security, corrections, or auxiliaries); ability to communicate effectively both orally and written; ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to accomplish/perform tasks with minimal supervision; ability to perform duties in inclement weather; able to work a flexible schedule; computer literate; possess clean driving record and valid Ohio driver’s license; CPR and AED certifications (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree; prior experience in a college or university law enforcement setting.

Food Service Associate

The Food Services Associate is responsible for the successful management, production and implementation of food service throughout campus. The Food Service Associate works in various capacities within the Food Service system and performs multiple functions as required on a daily basis. 

Required qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent in education and 3-4 years direct experience in food service required. 

Preferred qualifications: Excellent oral communication skills, demonstrated knowledge of food service technology and ability to take and follow directions are preferred. 

Minimum Hourly Rate: $10.67

Food Service Assistant

The Food Services Assistant, is responsible for the implementation of food services in assigned areas throughout campus including Starbucks. Duties include setting up catering stations, operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, prepare food under direction, and additional duties as assigned by supervisor or director.

Required qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent in education and 2-3 years direct experience in food service required.

Preferred qualifications: Excellent oral communication skills, demonstrated knowledge of food service principles and ability to take and follow directions are preferred.

Minimum Hourly Rate: $9.66
