Computer Science, Engineering and Technology

The computer engineering technology field is one of the fast growing in the United States. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, five out of the top 25 fastest-growing jobs are in this field. There are several industries that create the most demand, including manufacturing, health care, banking and finance, transportation logistics, and law enforcement/digital forensics. The LCCC Computer Science, Engineering & Technologies program places a heavy emphasis on preparing you to work in one of those industries and allows you to focus on applied electronics or applications integration.

In applied electronics, you’ll be hands-on with computer hardware and electronic components to build and engineer electronics equipment. In application integrations, you’ll focus on the physical communication between computing devices and may work as a software or hardware engineer.

Getting started while you’re still in high school

You don’t have to wait to graduate from high school to start earning college credit.

The College Credit Plus program offers you an opportunity to earn college credit as early as seventh grade. Courses are frequently offered on-site at local high schools. Students may also have the option of taking LCCC classes online or on our campus. Classes taken through CCP count for both high school and college credit and are FREE for most students.

The MyUniversity program, a unique partnership between LCCC and area high schools, provides a pathway for high school students to the full college experience – starting in high school!
