Men’s Basketball Grabs Thrilling Come-from-Behind Win

November 14, 2019 – – The Lorain County Community College Men’s Basketball Team overcame a double-digit first-half deficit to grab a thrilling come from behind 83-80 win over visiting Pitt-Titusville. LCCC gained their composure in the second half and played aggressive defense to knot the score at 72 with 5:44 left to play.

The Commodores capitalized off several consecutive steals to take the lead, including a beautiful alley-oop pass from Jaylen Jenkins (Willoughby/Willoughby South) and slam dunk by Jodeci Crite (Lorain) that brought the fans to their feet.


LCCC’s Lands Two on OCCAC Volleyball Team, Sullinger Earns All-Region

November 14, 2019 – – LCCC Sophomore Setter Kara Sullinger (North Ridgeville) and Freshman Middle Hitter Vanecia Billings (Lorain/Clearview) were selected to the OCCAC All-Conference Volleyball Team for the 2019 season. Sullinger earned OCCAC First-Team honors, as well as an NJCAA Division III All-Region XII nod, while Billings earned OCCAC All-Freshman Team honors and an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.


Women’s Basketball Faces Tall Task in Loss to Titans

November 11, 2019 – – The Lorain County Community College Women’s Basketball Team faced a tall task yesterday matching up against 6’3” Center Island Bradley and the Community College of Beaver County. Unfortunately, LCCC was unable to overcome a career high 33 points by Bradley and a poor shooting night…hitting just 28.7% from the field in their 84-61 loss to the Titans.

The Commodores are back at home on Thursday, November 14, 2019, for a 5 pm game against Pitt-Titusville.

LCCC Cross-Country Wraps up Season at NJCAA DIII Nationals; Gannon Earns All-American Status, Powers Region Coach of the Year

The LCCC Country team competed in the NJCAA DIII National Championship Meet in Westfield, Massachusetts on Saturday. The women’s team finished 9th overall, the fourth time in eight years that LCCC has had a top 10 finish at nationals. Kelsey Gannon (Avon) again led the Commodores, finishing in 15th in the Women’s race, earning All American honors. Coach Jim Powers (pictured) was named the Central Region Men’s Coach of the Year by the United States Track &Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).
