A new career in the insurance industry may be just weeks away with the Fast-Track insurance program at Lorain County Community College.
In just one semester, students will gain skills and employer connections that can help them land a job in the insurance industry. With support from Progressive and Erie Insurance, LCCC provides students the opportunity to learn the skills needed most by local insurance employers.
A virtual information session will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 18. Those interested may register at http://www.lorainccc.edu/insurance or call (440) 366-4856.
Students who complete the Fast-Track Insurance program will be prepared to work in the growing and ever-changing insurance field and to effectively help and educate the public as customers. Many of these positions allow employees to work from home.
“Progressive is thrilled about the creation of Lorain County Community College’s new Fast-Track Insurance program,” said Tina Rozmeski, Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition for Progressive. “Many of Progressive’s employees have established successful careers after starting in a work-from-home licensed sales consultant role with our company – the kind of role that LCCC’s program prepares its students for.”
The Fast-Track Insurance program offers students an innovative approach to an insurance career that can grow and shape with them as they pursue their goals after graduation and into the workforce. The program trains students in the skills needed most by employers, including Erie Insurance.
“Erie Insurance is committed to helping students learn and grow in an inclusive environment where they are welcomed, engaged and challenged. By partnering with LCCC we are able to establish, build, and maintain relationships with community partners to support these goals,” said Adrienne Miller, district sales manager for Erie Insurance.
Courses in the insurance program fill some requirements of the associate of applied business degree, allowing students to seamlessly continue their education, if desired.
The Fast-Track program focuses on well-paying industries with projected job growth in the coming years. Many programs can be completed in 16 weeks or less, in fields such as business, computer and information technology, healthcare and manufacturing.
